The God of Independence, an 8 year revelation.

2014-Sunday Brunch at Alvin and friends
It was the fourth of JULY, In the summer of 2014, (7 years to that date prior 2007- I would be arrested for the first time in my life in NYC, ) I was video taping a few shots from "I met you on the M.T.A.", my popular face book blog about subway singers.  It happened to be a random night I would catch the legendary Terri Davis (second from the left in the photo above) singing in the train. I had just had the most epic domestic battle of my life which sent me straight out into the harsh streets on NYC with a swollen ankle, a black eye and a gym bag full of clothes. This woman changed my life in a day. After explaining to her who I WAS, and what I was doing, she figured their was no way I should be on the streets, instantly adopting me as her second son. We ate at all the great diners, clubs and cafes in Harlem.   She invited me to all of her shows, including the ones she did at Alvin and Friends on Sunday mornings where they would dance and drink and sing. Alvin and friends is a quiet little piano bar, in New Rochelle where the people are alive and plush with energy. There were Mimosas, and omelets and chicken and waffles and coffee, and music and ZEN.  Terri Davis introduced me to her small circle of friends, including the band members that play with her on Sunday mornings and afternoons at the famous, art inspired Restaurant- and for a brief moment in my life, I didn't have to face my realities again. Going on another adventurous "leave of absence"into the gift and the curse of the Nomad life. I was just at the brink of thirty years old and feeling like I was born again, every Sunday for just just a few Hippie - Happy hours, that one year.... that one summer, that I will never forget.   #freedom
